Contentrue, operated by truethinks ltd, respects your right to have your personal data deleted. This page explains what data we may hold about you and how to request its deletion.
1. What data we may hold
- Account information (name, email, authentication credentials) for administrators of the Service.
- Instagram data obtained through Meta’s Instagram Graph API when you connect an Instagram Business/Creator account — specifically your Instagram user ID, username, account type and a long-lived access token, used only to publish content you schedule through the Service.
- Content you created, scheduled or published through the Service.
- Comments and related metadata (name, email, IP address) submitted on any brand website operated by the platform.
- Technical logs (IP, user agent, timestamps).
2. Self-service options
You can disconnect your Instagram account at any time without contacting us:
- Inside the Contentrue admin panel, go to your Account settings and click “Disconnect” next to Instagram. This immediately removes the stored access token from our database.
- Alternatively, revoke access from Instagram itself: open the Instagram app → Settings → Apps and Websites → select Contentrue → Remove. Once revoked, we can no longer access your Instagram data.
3. How to request full data deletion
To request deletion of all personal data we hold about you, email us at info@truethinks.co.uk with the subject line “Data Deletion Request” and include:
- The email address associated with your Contentrue account (if any).
- The Instagram handle(s) you have connected to the Service (if any).
- Any brand website comments you would like removed, with a link or identifying details.
For verification we may ask you to confirm the request from the email address on file or to prove ownership of the Instagram handle.
4. What happens next
- We will acknowledge your request within 7 days.
- We will complete deletion within 30 days of verification, and confirm once done.
- We will delete or anonymise your personal data across our production database and live backups, except where we are legally required to retain specific records (e.g. financial records). Any such retention and its lawful basis will be explained in our response.
- Instagram access tokens are revoked and removed immediately upon verification.
5. Your rights
Deletion is one of several rights you have under the UK GDPR. For details of all your rights and how we handle personal data, please see our Privacy Policy. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
