This policy explains how to cancel a Contentrue subscription and when you can get a refund. It forms part of the Terms of Service. Nothing here limits your statutory rights.
1. Free trial
The 14-day trial needs no card and costs nothing. You are not charged when it ends unless you choose a paid plan.
2. How to cancel
You can cancel at any time yourself, with no notice period and without contacting us: open the billing portal from the Billing section of the app and choose cancel. If you cannot access the app, email hello@contentrue.com from your account email and we will cancel it for you.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have paid for (the end of the month for monthly plans, or of the year for yearly plans). You keep full access until then and will not be billed again.
- We do not refund the unused part of a period after you cancel, except under section 3 or where the law says otherwise.
- You can change plan from the billing portal; changes are prorated by Stripe.
- We send a reminder before a trial or subscription renews, as the law requires.
3. Consumers: 14-day right to cancel
If you are a consumer, you may cancel a new subscription or credit-pack purchase within 14 days of buying it without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The 14 days start on the day the contract is made.
- How: tell us clearly that you want to cancel, for example by email to hello@contentrue.com from your account email. You may use this wording: "I cancel my Contentrue subscription purchased on [date]. Account email: [email]." You do not need a particular form.
- Immediate start: at checkout we ask you to expressly request that the Service starts straight away, and to acknowledge that if you cancel within 14 days you must pay for what you have already used.
- What we refund: we refund everything you paid, minus an amount proportionate to the Service you have already used (the share of the period that has passed, and the value of credits you used). If the Service has been fully performed and you gave your prior express consent and acknowledgement, the right to cancel is lost.
- When: without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive your notice, to the payment method you used.
4. Credits and credit packs
Credits pay for AI work as soon as it is done. Used credits cannot be refunded. Monthly credits do not roll over. A credit pack that you cancel within 14 days under section 3 and have not used at all will be refunded in full; otherwise credits are non-refundable except where the law requires. Credits have no cash value and expire if your account is closed.
5. Problems with the Service
If the Service is faulty or not as described, tell us and we will put it right. Consumers have statutory rights, including to repair or re-supply and, where that does not work, a price reduction or refund. If we publish a post wrongly because of our error, or fail to publish an approved post, contact us within 30 days and we will consider a credit or refund.
6. Failed payments
If a payment fails we will retry and tell you. While it is overdue, new generation stops straight away and scheduled posts keep publishing for 7 days, after which we may pause publishing and suspend the account until payment is made.
7. Business customers
If you are not a consumer, the 14-day right does not apply and fees are non-refundable except as stated in the Terms or required by law.
